Tiny Daily Treasures

Day One – Tiny Daily Treasures

So many times we just wear ourselves out trying to do battle that isn’t even ours to do.

The Lord gave me a verse several years ago for learning how to find rest for my soul.  It is a simple verse and yet packed with power and wisdom:

Exodus 14:14 – “Adonai will do battle for you. Just calm yourselves down!” (CJB)

It never fails that we get ourselves into trouble when we don’t stand back and let God fight our battles for us – we get worked up and then just turn plain ugly.  Ugly!

Remember, God has His children’s backs – let Him fight the battle for you.  Stay calm.  Rest in Him.

My song for today:  The Battle Belongs to the Lord

Day 2 – Tiny Daily Treasures

Awestruck.  Memories.  Silence.

“But the LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him.”                                 – Habakkuk 2:20

Oh, Father, those precious moments, alone – awestruck and in silence in the midst of your love and your glory.  I will always treasure these moments with Him.

Day 3 Tiny Daily Treasures

A time for silence.  A time to speak up.

“Do not shout; do not even talk!  Not a single word from any of you until I tell you to shout – THEN SHOUT!”                    – Joshua 6:10

Yes, it can be hard to learn how to remain silent.

Silence is golden.  Remain silent.  THEN when God says it is time – SHOUT!

Day 4 Tiny Daily Treasures

Learn.  Wisdom.

“I wish you would stay silent; for you, that would be wisdom.”  – Job 13:5

There have been times in my life that I had to eat my words – words that were not filled with wisdom at the time.  I am so thankful for those tiny daily treasures that I find in God’s Presence that show me the way to His heart – His thoughts – His ways.

Wisdom is something to be desired.

Day 5 Tiny Daily Treasures

At times, it is hard to sit still. To be still.  In the Presence of God.

In order to learn how to “Be Still,” we must get to know all about our God – our Heavenly Father.  It takes time.  It must be savored.  It must be treasured.

Jesus said we would know His Voice.  But it takes being still – being silent – anticipating His Voice above all others.

“BE STILL, and know that I am God.  I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.”  – Psalm 46:10

Oh, Father, I yearn for wisdom to discern when I do battle and when I remain still – still before You.

Day 6 – Tiny Daily Treasures

Silence.  Before.  Him

Worship

What would 30-minutes of silence feel and look like to you?  At times, just 5-minutes of silence could feel like an eternity.  Could you sit still in anticipation of what would be next?

Revelation 8:1 – When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. (ESV)

Jesus, the Lamb of God opens the seventh seal and there was complete silence in heaven for about 30-minutes.

Awe.  Adoration.  Anticipation.  Awake.  Aware.

I believe all eyes were upon the Lamb.  Anticipating what would be next.

Day 7 – Tiny Daily Treasures

Be. Still. Wait. Patiently.

We are surrounded by chaos and conflict in our world today.  It seems to intensify with each new day.

AND YET, we are also surrounded by a great host of witnesses. and even BETTER YET, we are surrounded by the Angel of the Lord who surrounds those who fear the Lord. (Hebrews 12:1; Psalm 34:7)

AND BETTER YET, the Holy Spirit lives within each believer.  (1 John 4:4)

Psalm 37:7 – Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.  Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. (NLT)

God has our backs.  All we need to do is be still – wait patiently – God acts

My song for today:  Everlasting God

Day 8 – Tiny Daily Treasures

HOLD. STILL. SEE. GREAT. DEED.

In HIs Hands

Sometimes we get so worked up over something that we miss the work of God!  We miss our blessings.  We miss the move of our Heavenly Father.

1 Samuel 12:16 – Now therefore, hold still; and see the great deed which Adonai will perform before your very eyes.  (CJB)

There are suddenlies all around us happening.  God’s Mighty Hand is at work.  Don’t miss what He is doing in the midst of chaotic conflict.

Just hold still.  And wait.  And watch.  And you will see.

Day 9 – Tiny Daily Treasures

Rejoice.  Hope.  Patient.  Tribulation.  Constant.  Prayer

As I travel further down the path of God, I realize that each season of my life is a preparation – a path to the next journey.

15183255 - forest path on a sunny may morning

I have learned to rejoice in hope.

I rejoice in the fullness of joy that comes with each new journey.

I have learned patience in the eye of the storm.  I have remained constant in prayer.

When I travel with God I am safe and secure in His Love.

Romans 12:12 – Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. (ESV)

Rejoice.  Rejoice that you know Him.

Let Him lead.

The song I share today is one I play on my way to work each day – it’s fun and it’s alive.  Enjoy:  The River
