Gifts of Words

My Words can bless you; my Words can curse you. Or, my words can remain dormant.

We have a power within us that can bless one another.  And yet, more times than not we remain silent or even worse – curse one another.

Gift of WORDS

Ecclesiastes 3:1,7(b) – “For everything there is a season, a right time for every intention under heaven: . . . . . . . a time to keep silent and a time to speak.”  (CJB)

HOSPITALITY is a great time to honor each other.  Maybe for a birthday.  Anniversary.  Graduation.

But so many times we have a celebration and we forget to honor the one we are celebrating.  Yes, we can have great food – fun – but if we remain silent we keep the gifts of words inside of us.

Words can be a gift to another.

This year as I take the time to savor memories and treasure the great things that I have learned from my Heavenly Father, I am discovering what it means to honor another with my words.  When a birthday comes up – or just the spur of the moment, I have taken the time to gather a basket of Words to honor someone in my life.  It truly takes time to think of what another person has added to my life – moments that I am learning to savor – to treasure.

REMEMBER, when you take the time to gather for a celebration – don’t forget to come prepared to speak words that will gift the heart of the one being honored.  Don’t remain silent.  Speak up and bless each other.

SPEND time in prayer asking God what He loves about another person.  Learn to speak up and live in a culture of honor.  Learn how to become a Culture of Honor.
