My Little Butterfly

Change.  Transformation.  New.

Butterflies Amazing

2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” (ESV)

Romans 12:2 – “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (ESV)

On April 12th, in my quiet moments alone with my Heavenly Father, I lingered a little longer than usual.  I have learned to treasure these moments alone with Him.  I was sitting in my favorite place – His Lap – and He whispered to me, “Rest for your soul is coming to an end.  It has served the purpose of our many chats – words written.”

What a beautiful moment – lingering there – resting there in His arms – in His lap.

Then I was prompted to turn to Psalm 57:1 in my Bible – I wasn’t sure that I wanted it to come to an end – but He gently nudged me and said, “Look.  Listen.  Then Obey.”

Psalm 57:1 – “Show me favor, God, show me favor; for in you I have taken refuge.  Yes, I will find refuge in the shadow of your wings until the storms have passed. (CJB)

The storm has passed.  I have come to realize that it is within the “storms” that I grow more in the Lord.  That I have learned to trust in Him more.

Then before I left that restful quiet moment with Him, God spoke words to me that He has never spoken before:

“Arise my little butterfly and fly but remember to always find refuge in the shadows of my wings.”

My Little Butterfly

I have pondered these words for a couple of days – what will my next path look like?  Will I find other butterflies along this path?  What have I been chosen to do?

I will wait – wait upon the Lord and cherish the coming months up ahead.

This is my official last post on my blog – Rest for Your Soul.  It has been fun walking with him and then having the opportunity to share my times that I have spent alone with him – with many from all over the world.

My last song I leave with you is appropriate for this last post:

Under His Wings

My New Blog: Rest for Your Soul –

Almost a year ago, I was struggling with finding the rest for my soul that I desperately needed.  I just didn’t know how to get off that “merry-go-round” of craziness.  I was calling out to the Lord for help and I felt like He wasn’t hearing me.  The Problem?  I wasn’t listening to His Voice.  I was listening to the voices of others that surrounded me and I was basically just ignoring that voice telling me to come away and Rest in Him.

Tired.  Weak.  Weepy. Done.  Such a vicious circle.

God called me away and during those two days – I stumbled across a Scripture – Jeremiah 6:16-17: Thus says the LORD; “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.  But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’  I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Pay attention to the sound of the trumpet!’  But they said, ‘We will not pay attention’.” (ESV)

Somehow I knew those words were for me.  Literally dripping off the page of my Bible like honey – but I was so Tired.  Weak.  Weepy. Done.  I could not fathom what God was trying to say to me.

Excitement and fear mingled together today  – as I say, “Lord, I will walk in the good ways.  Lord, I will pay attention to the sound of the trumpet!  Lord, I will obey you in this step of faith with sharing Your Word with others.”

My prayers are that as I reach out to others – who may be Tired.  Weak.  Weepy.  Done. – that you will hear that voice of rest speak to your soul and you will ask for strength to pursue Him.  That I will be able to share God’s Heart with you and that you will start finding those little places of “rest for your soul”.

Stop by next Thursday, February 5th and join me in finding rest for our souls.  Come away and walk with me and let us seek to find ways to find beautiful rest in His Presence.

Oh how the Lord loves you and me.
